Daily journal November 8, 2000, Around the North Coast of Ireland to Londonderry then down the Westcoast to Ballybofey from the winding Northern Ireland Border to the point out to Glen Bay to spend the night where sheep sleep in the street. After walking in their garden at the Alanda Rose and a look at the fountain, we drove to Ballymena and North to BallyCastle on the extreme North East of the Island and passed huge potato wagons as they were harvesting Irish potatoes of course. After a good look at the North Shore and a fill up with petro, we motored on West to Coleraine and Lamavady, by lunch we stopped at LetterKenny for a lunch special at the Holiday Inn. We shopped briefly at Donegal. The view the outer banks is breath taking to see the Atlantic Ocean from here. We drove past Killybags and Kitty Kally to another B & B right over the ocean at the very end of this primitive area is called Rossan Point at the small town of Glencolumbkille, the most Western point from here through Northern Ireland. The South extends further Westward.
Prince Charles was shown with his 100 year old grandmother who had fallen and broken her collarbone but recovered. The Prince made a speech in which he accused the people of causing the disasters of floods and disease from animals that has caused 82 people's death in England. Ireland reports it had 130 cases of mad cow disease in this year, could be human beings as I am not sure which they are reporting. The beef here is banded for export even to Russia although Russia has not purchased any beef since their collapse, (quoting from the Scottish Daily Express). The Titanic sailed from these water's in 1912.
I have said it before and I will say it again, it is a good time to be or become a vegetarian. Mad cow disease is not the only danger from eating meat, beef, pork or poultry. Let us invest in a raw vegetable diet for health and our well-being. To quote Prince Charles as saying " mankind's arrogant disregard " for NATURE has caused all the devastation of recent weeks, the floods which have a swap of the country and the ravages of mad cow disease could all be blamed on our contempt for the balance of nature. Other diseases from animals to man could be triggered by new technology is terrifying, he claimed that mankind's problems could be only partly solved by medical treatment. Last week it was revealed that a new cluster of C.J.D. cases-the human form of mad cow disease, has now been identified, and with the death of Sarah Roberts, bringing the number of dead to 81, Charles remarks are certain to deepen the concerns. Have mercy Dear Lord upon us all.
I feel really near the earth here although these people are very oppressed with high tax.
The conditions in Northern Ireland are calm regarding tension between Catholic and the Christian. There's no security going in or out of this part of Ireland. All of Ireland seems like one country. Ireland is enjoying an economic bonanza as is the world at this critical time. Many resent America imposing the prefabrication of foods upon the U.K.. People here prefer their own lives still without change and without all of our discoveries being forced upon them including our policies in the coming new one world, and they do not consider these changes better, but worst. Our food substitutes now I believe may add to the medical dilemma we are in today that is draining our treasury and bankrupting our nation. The waste in government is global and unrest is the order of the day. May the Lord God in heaven give us grace to live Holy and exercise wisdom and knowledge in all matters and be content in whatever state we are in. May our word be our bond and may we be committed Dear Lord to that heavenly cause in all matters. We find so many such wonderful people here, it sure gives me hope and reassurance of a good future. A bit of Ireland will always be within me and I love the people and I would love to be here more.
